play based learning

We believe that children have a natural drive to learn. Our goal is provide a rich learning environment, create activities that encourage them to try new things, and watch them fly.

Our curriculum Learning Beyond Paper curriculum to plan activities for all infants-pre K students. We conduct regular developmental observations and assessments to make sure all of our students are thriving. Click here to learn more about our curriculum.

Preschool aged children have a variety of activities each day to choose from in the areas of dramatic play, music, literacy, art, STEM, motor skills, and practical life skills. We also have group art classes, field trips, and plenty of outside time. Teachers track children's daily activities in our parent communication app, Procare. They act as guides to each student's development, observing and recording their progress in connection with the Idaho Early Learning eGuidelines standards. The activities are dynamic, changing and adapting with the needs and interests of the students.

nutrition program

Part of nurturing the whole child is teaching healthy eating and caring for our bodies. We serve breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack each day. These are provided as part of tuition. We focus on serving healthy, balanced meals that the kids will love. A copy of the meal calendar is always available upon request. We teach children good table manners, mindful eating practices, and how to choose food that is good for our bodies.

real-world preparation

At Whole Child, we involve students in daily activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, dressing, and self-care. We encourage independence so that children develop a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. They learn practical life skills through modeling and practice.
